Prof. Dr. Sina Farzin

 

Sina Farzin is a Junior Professor for Social Theory in the In­stitute for Sociology at the University of Hamburg, and a mem­ber of the collaborative research group "Fiction Meets Science" which is based in Bremen and Oldenburg. Her re­search con­cerns the images and imaginations of future so­cieties in dys­topian and utopian science novels with a spe­­­­cial focus on cli­mate change fiction.

 

She holds Master Degrees in German literature and in Socio­logy from the Ruhr-University Bochum, and received her Ph.­D. in sociology from the Bremen International Gra­duate School of Social Sciences. From 2009 to 2012 she worked as a Re­search Associate at the Institute for Empiri­­cal and Ap­plied Sociology at the University Bremen.
