Prof. Dr. Sina Farzin
Sina Farzin is a Junior Professor for Social Theory in the Institute for Sociology at the University of Hamburg, and a member of the collaborative research group "Fiction Meets Science" which is based in Bremen and Oldenburg. Her research concerns the images and imaginations of future societies in dystopian and utopian science novels with a special focus on climate change fiction.
She holds Master Degrees in German literature and in Sociology from the Ruhr-University Bochum, and received her Ph.D. in sociology from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences. From 2009 to 2012 she worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Empirical and Applied Sociology at the University Bremen.
